Green Tea Pills - Are these enough for optimal health?
If you are like me, then you must be wondering what you can do to make your health better and your energy level higher.
One of the things people do a lot of searching on the internet is green tea pills.
The question I would like to address in this article is this: Is taking green tea pills alone enough measure to protect your health in the long term, or is it better to seek out other alternatives?
According to the latest research, the main causes of aging are five. These are:
1. Free radicals: These are molecules, which are created by a process called oxidation. What is special about them is that they have one electron missing. In their effort to become "whole" again, they steal electrons from other chemical structures in our body.
As a result, these chemical structures are left seriously damaged!
Now, oxidation is happening all the time and if kept under control, it is an essential function of all living organisms. It should only be a cause for concern, when there is excessive activity.
2. Glycation: This is a complex chemical activity (more dangerous than oxidation!) which, in simple terms, damages the proteins that are inside your body.
As you probably know, proteins are molecules, which are very essential for the smooth operation of your body functions.
If glycation is left uncontrolled, then it will lead to premature ageing (you will look older that your age) and will contribute to serious diseases such as heart problems or even cancer.
3. Methylation: this is a very essential chemical process, which is taking place inside our bodies and ensures that all chemical structures are in good "working condition".
As we age, this process gets less and less efficient, accelerating the aging process and the emergence of degenerative diseases.
4. Inflammation: This is has been described by scientists as "the silent killer". You may not realize this, but the truth is that your body has to fight chronic inflammation all the time. It is not easy to narrow down the cause of inflammation, as it is interrelated with the other four causes of aging.
5. DNA Repair: As you all probably know, DNA is the chemical inside the nucleus of our cells, which carries all the genetic instructions. An important feature of DNA is that it copies itself on the new cells, which come from the division of the older ones.
However, as we grow older, our DNA degenerates. Thus, new cells have a progressively poorer copy of the original DNA. This is actually the fundamental mechanism of aging!
Now, the key issues to take home are the following:
1. You cannot treat any of these causes in isolation. All of them are interrelated, and even if one of them is left uncontrolled, then it will trigger a vicious circle will in the end wreak havoc into your body.
2. There are people who say that you can efficiently combat these causes by controlling your diet and adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Unfortunately, however, this is not the case. The realities of modern day living (proliferation of processed foods, pollution) make this option next to impossible.
